To tune a 6-string guitar in standard tuning:

  1. Low E string: Tune the 6th string to an E note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 5th fret of the A string.
  2. A string: Tune the 5th string to an A note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 5th fret of the D string.
  3. D string: Tune the 4th string to a D note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 5th fret of the G string.
  4. G string: Tune the 3rd string to a G note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 4th fret of the B string.
  5. B string: Tune the 2nd string to a B note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 5th fret of the high E string.
  6. High E string: Tune the 1st string to a high E note by using an electronic tuner or by matching the pitch to a fretted note on the 7th fret of the B string.

Note: It's recommended to tune the guitar frequently, especially before playing, to ensure accurate pitch and to avoid any potential damage to the instrument or the strings.
